Dish Scrubber from fruit net bag

While visiting my mom in December/January, she had a "scrubbie" that she used to clean off her dishes before loading the dishwasher.  Once I got home, and my dishwasher had to have a thorough cleaning, I decided I would clean most of the food items off of my dishes before loading them.

....(apparently you are supposed to clean out your dishwasher monthly including cleaning out the jets...the spinning things above and below your racks.  It's where all of the food collects and gets trapped...gasp!  I have never done it other than running a cup of vinegar through an empty machine)

Now I needed a "scrubbie" and a sponge wouldn't cut it.  You know what I'm talking about.  The first time you use a sponge to remove fettuccine or cheese you have a nasty cheese covered sponge.

Looking around my counter, I had an orange bag.

I cut off each end, and then wound it to my satisfaction.

Voila!  A new FREE scrubbie!

It's been working great for a few weeks now! This was linked to: Tip Junkie handmade projects

What Will It BEE Baby Sprinkle

My wonderful friend Kim and I hosted a Baby Sprinkle for dear friend Lindsay several weeks ago.  She is having her third baby, and is expecting to be surprised at the birth.  She is due any day now.  (She's already dilating! so exciting!)

Since we needed a neutral theme a few ideas were:  Once, twice, three times a mommy/Milk and cookies, Peas in a pod, What Will It BEE?

We chose the obvious theme... What Will It BEE?

CVS Clearance (V-day)

I stopped in quickly for a last minute purchase (and kicked myself for not buying it on sale weeks/months before when I should have at the lower price) and THE BOY and I found three carts FULL of Valentine products at 50% off!

We scored:
 4 pks-Nerd Ropes $0.49 ea
1 box Lindor Truffles $2.49
(two more items I can't tell you about as they are for gifts for peeps who might read about it here)

Also, I am trying a new deodorant, aluminum free--that was $1.17 so I will let you know how that works.  (I currently use Tom's deodorant since it's all natural)

Gotta love GREAT deals when you aren't expecting them!

Clean Air--Less Germs

We have all been sick lately with a cold.  THE GIRL got it first, gave it to THE BOY who gave it to me, and then the accumulation of germs in the house ended up attacking THE HUSBAND.

Now that we are only sniffling and trying to get back to 100% health, I just feel icky with all of these germs invading my house.

Update: Naturally Washing my hair

So.....after jumping on the hair-wagon three weeks ago, I have to come clean....(pun intended)....I am not a huge fan of the baking soda/vinegar hair washing ONLY.

Initially, I thought that it was great.
        My hair felt healthy.
My head didn't itch from the chemicals in the shampoo.
It looked clean and felt pretty good too!

Then at the end of week 1, I started to get oily hair.  BUT, I expected this, and still trudged on.

Bacon Appetizer Crescents (Homemade)

Today, I am making some (from scratch) bacon appetizer crescents.  You can get the recipe for the filling from A Few Shortcuts and the recipe for the crescents at Baking Bites.

I haven't tried the crescent recipe before, but the reviews on it look good.

I can't wait to eat these tonight for our Ladies Meeting at church!

HomeMade Chai Tea

I am a lover of Trader Joe's Chai Tea.  LOVE IT!

However, I don't get to Trader Joe's very often, and I don't drink coffee anymore (but I still crave the hot, thick liquid)...so I found this wonderful recipe to make my very own Chai Tea at Craft Buds.
