Kids Birthday Quilts
From Grandma this year, the kids received a quilt for their birthday.
The BOY:
And on the back are TRAINS!
The GIRL
And I don't have a back of the quilt shot, but hers has music notes in many funky colors on a black background.
The kids really enjoy these and I am sure will get many years' use out of them. Thanks Grandma!

It's raining....
What a wonderful rainy week it has been!
Yes, you heard me right!
I have enjoyed all of the rain we have been getting.
My grass is a beautiful green:
My garden doesn't require me to get out early in the morning for its early morning nourishment.
But....
Have a GREAT weekend!

Thursday ramblings
I realized that I don't post much about the goings on in our days, so I will start that today.
(Sucking in of breath) I realized that in mybajillion list of saved favorite blogs, I don't have my own saved. Crazy. What was I thinking! I fixed that today...no more typing in r-e-m-a-k...and waiting for the page to show up in history...
Took the kids to the library to start them on the Summer Reading program. Who doesn't love some free coupons for kids to do stuff? While I was there I checked out some books I am excited to peruse....
Borrowed a shirt from a friend so that I can copy it and make a pattern. I will let you know how that goes!
The kids and I made some homemade supreme pizza last week! Yummmmmmm...

Missions Conference
We are in the midst of our Missions Conference at church and let me tell you, it has been UPLIFTING!
I have really been enjoying the message this week. We need to listen when God is calling us. We need to remember that He is in control of everything and that He doesn't need us...... BUT He wants us and desires to fellowship with us.
The best thing that I have heard so far is this:
Why is it that we can trust God with our soul, but can't seem to trust Him with our finances?
(Ouch--that hit me personally.)
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
Matthew 28:19, KJV

Garden Labels cheap
I am cheap. I don't prefer the term frugal or thrifty. I love that I refuse to spend when I don't have to.
I love to reuse something I already have to lower my cost. HOWEVER, it usually ends up kinda trashy looking. (Some people in my house don't really have the same respect for my re-usage)
I love to reuse something I already have to lower my cost. HOWEVER, it usually ends up kinda trashy looking. (Some people in my house don't really have the same respect for my re-usage)
As you can see, my current method really isn't working for me. My post-it (although well taped...NOT) is something I have on hand and the sticks are free; as you can see, this is not weathering well. (Pun intended)
The other day when I was at target, I found some HALF OFF dollar spot items.
Aren't these adorable plant stakes?
I figured that I could splurge 16 cents for EACH stake (3 pk for $0.50)
Now to just figure out how to add a label to the plant stake. Any suggestions?

My little Garden....Welcome Spring
I am so excited that it is warm and Spring has arrived. (Although I think Spring needs to hold stronger a little longer since it was 95+ yesterday--really? In early May?) I already feel the need to break out the Slip-n-slide. Too bad they don't make a cushioned adult version....
These are just about my favorite plant right now. I was given these from a friend. They are easy maintenance, are perennial and grow like wildfire, so I can easily re-distribute these next year to some bare areas of my landscape.
My garden is blossoming in this weather.
I don't have much yard space, so I have a few vegetable crops growing in containers....Container gardening in the BEST!
I was a little disappointed when I first planted at the end of April because it was so cold and it hurt my tomatoes I had grown indoors (that batch had to be dumped....sad day). I planted some directly into the ground and they haven't sprouted yet...fingers crossed!
